Ah Jane, I love this article! As a practicing psychologist and researcher, I feel so strongly about the teachability bias. You've used such a beautiful example to illustrate it clearly. I often find patients who only want the "Cook#1" approach, not realising it is not the best for them.. it may be the easiest. But, here is where my mission kicks in - to help people embrace difficulty, as therein lies the path to their freedom, joy, and ultimate fulfilment.
